When it comes to serving up new and intriguing travel experiences,
the team at Paradigm Expeditions know few limitations. For the modern
day explorer seeking a unique and inspirational journey, we are
proud to offer a series of innovative Deep Sea submersible voyages
throughout the world's oceans. Please read below for a taste of
what is available:
RMS Titanic: It was at her final
port of call in Queenstown, Ireland that Titanic's chief
officer, Henry Wilde sent a letter to his sister expressing his
misgivings and saying, "I still don't like this ship, I have
a queer feeling about it". Henry Wilde was to lose his life
three days later, along with 1,500 other people. One-sixth of a
mile long, Titanic was not only the largest moving object
ever built, she was also the most opulent. With her sheer size and
cutting-edge watertight features, she was promptly touted as unsinkable.
See with your own eyes the greatest ship in the world in her final
resting place - 3,800m below the ocean surface. Experience for yourself
the mystique and majesty of this poignant chapter in humanitys
collective history.

Battleship Bismarck: On May 27th
1941, in the Atlantic Ocean some 300 miles southwest of the southern
tip of Ireland, the German Battleship Bismarck fought her
last, one-sided battle. Pounded mercilessly by four British warships,
the ship soon was a flaming
defenceless wreck. Just before disappearing into the Atlantic depths,
the vessel rolled over with the bow pointing into the air. The four
giant gun turrets, which were not fixed to Bismarcks hull,
broke away and careened downwards to the ocean floor, together with
masses of other debris. Bismarck now lies 4,670m below the
surface, her hull upright and partially embedded in the mud. Some
2,300 souls went to their deaths in the cold ocean.

Azores - Undersea Volcanoes and Rainbow
Vents : Chimneys of rock ten meters high, colonies of ancient
and otherworldly creatures, as alien as anything found on this earth.
An ecosystem based upon sulphur, not sunlight. And at the heart
of it all, black smokers undersea geysers blasting out superheated
water, minerals and the very essence of life itself. These rare
vents contain some of the oldest life forms on earth, unknown to
science until just three decades ago and providing remarkable insight
into the origins of life on earth.

Bikini Atoll: Bikini Atoll is home
to over 800 species of reef fish, 160 species of flourishing coral,
a myriad of sharks (encountered at the famous Bikini Atoll shark
pass), turtles, rays and giant clams. In addition there are 21 World
War II wrecks including an aircraft carrier, two submarines, two
attack transports, a battleship and two destroyers. These unmanned
navy vessels were not sunk as an act of war but as sacrificial victims
whilst observing the effects of the atomic blasts Able
and Baker conducted by the US military nuclear test
programme in the 1950s. As a result of this nuclear testing the
Atoll has been under de facto protection from human disturbance
for over 40 years and the reef growth and associated fish stocks
have reached a near pristine state.
In addition to offering snorkeling and Scuba diving on this expedition,
adventurers are provided a unique world-first opportunity
to dive the waters and wrecks of Bikini Atoll in the Deep Rover
submersibles - allowing them to stare down the barrel of 16-inch
guns and cruise the USN Helldiver with aircraft still
positioned in their hangars.
This is a rare and exclusive opportunity to complement a fantastic
scuba diving itinerary
with multiple dives in the Deep Rover submersibles.

A selection of additional itineraries will also be available in
the near future.
